Project Manager - Transforming from Lone Wolf to Team Dynamo!

Dear Readers,

Apologies for not publishing newsletter in last month - As I was working from mountains - and took some time off from writing :)

Now, I am back to share more on how to thrive & survive as a Project Manager. Well, today's newsletter is about Project Managers who just wore the hat and realising - what a wonderful beast project management is 😅

Simple question - How to transition into Project Manager role smoothly? What are not so secret ingredients to thrive as a new Project Manager.

Here you go:

Communication is Key:

Just like your favorite TV show, without good communication, your project will end up canceled. Keep those lines open, clear, and frequent. If you find yourself drowning in emails, maybe it's time to send a carrier pigeon instead. 😅

Pro tip - Keep your communication channel open in working hours only - You don't want to ruin your personal time trying to be best Project Manager.

Plan:

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Take the time to map out your project from start to finish. But also remember - Hardly everything goes as planned. Be ready with contingency weapon always :)

Delegate Like a Boss:

You're not a one-person army (unless you're secretly a superhero, in which case, can I get your autograph?). Delegate tasks to your team members and trust them to get the job done.

Pro tip: The key here is being humble and always leading with empathy.

Expect the Unexpected:

Murphy's Law is real, my friends. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong, usually at the worst possible moment. Prepare for the unexpected by having a Plan B, C, and maybe even a Plan D up your sleeve.

Celebrate the Wins:

In the midst of the chaos, don't forget to celebrate the victories, no matter how small. Whether it's hitting a milestone or surviving a particularly brutal meeting, take a moment to pat yourself on the back. You've earned it! Celebrate your team wins too - Appreciation is the most overrated skill.

Hope above tips will help you to be the Project Manager you wanted to be :)
